"The Hungarian people have been deprived of their own magnificent tapestry of religious, cultural and historic freedoms represented by the constitutional monarchy. I believe the new countries formed from the sadness of the end of the 20th century are, and forever will be, a commonwealth, beloved brothers sisters and cousins and that we, our commonwealth of diversity peoples, ideals hopes and dreams will endure and survive as we always have regardless of those who most certainly would like to keep us divided." George Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff
Welcome to the website the College of Heraldry. It is here that the Blue Cross College of Heraldry and Hungarian Genealogical Research honors the people of the former lands of the Hungarian Empire. This is where we reconnect the people of Hungary with their history.
Under the Soviet Bloc our cultural roots were denied during the rule of the communists. With no restraints or rules against culture and religion, or bias against nobility, the Blue Cross College of Heraldry seeks to restore these things to the people of Hungary.
Our goal is to allow those with family heritage to celebrate past honors. Here — on this site — you can now reclaim the glory of your family name and pass that honor onto your children.
Families long denied their rights to heraldic culture and heritage can now restore their coats of arms, crests and mottos — the achievements of our ancestors who were granted the right to pass these honors through the generations. Through this site we open the door for future generations to earn their achievements for the future generations of the family line.
This right has been lost to the people of Hungary for decades.
It is a resource to find out where your ancestors are buried, their history, and who they are and what they mean to you and to this great nation. The hope of the College of Heraldry is that we can open a dialogue to find out who we are and where we came from, and establish a movement to will help Hungary become a bigger and more important part of the global community.
"The College of Heraldry is also a library to house historic documents, photos, paintings and writing. It is a place for these items to be forever safe. It is for the people to access to find out who they are, what they are and what they represent." George Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff.
