Heraldry evaluation is the first step in either being granted a new patent of achievement or re-establishing an existing old set of family heraldry.   The process involves the following requirements and fees.

The petitioner will need to supply the college with copies of the heraldic artwork, letters of patent, and a genealogical chart of how the achievement has been passed down through the family lines.  Please provide as much information as possible.  More information will allow the researcher more success in determining the authenticity of the right to reclaim old heraldry or the appropriateness of requested new heraldic artwork.   Please note that the following will be the process that will proceed:

  1. Submission of request of evaluation to the Blue Cross College of Heraldry - please explain why the evaluation is being requested such as whether this is existing heraldry or a new design
  2. Acknowledgment of receipt of required data and receipt of ($600.00 US/ 450.00 Euros)*
  3. Evaluation Process ($600.00 US/ 450.00 Euros are non-refunded) **
  4. Notification of the Evaluation Process.  Depending upon the results, the petitioner will receive a written explanation stating that the heraldry will or will not be suitable for Registration with the Blue Cross College of Heraldry.  Explanations concerning rejected or unsuitable heraldry may include suggestions for changes that will allow for successful submission.
  5. Archiving of documents pertaining to evaluation of requested item.

* NOTE: Prices quoted above may change due to economic fluctuations and/or intensive research requirements

** NOTE: This fee and successful evaluation may be put towards the registration process
