George Criser Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff is the heir to the Hungarian monarchy. He is only son of Dr. Karl Joseph Albert Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff.

Dr. Karl Joseph Albert Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff was the Councilor of Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Hungary and in 1956 gave an historic speech of warning of the impending Soviet invasion. He told the people the American troops would not arrive to aid them in their stance against communist tyranny.

He then whisked his family away to the United States. George was born at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica, California on October 29, 1952.  The room in which he was born in was declared diplomatic open space by his father to make certain his son and heir's titles and lineage would be intact. It was necessary that George be born in a diplomatic free zone.  

George Graf und Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff grew up in the United States. His existence was kept a secret. Fears of kidnapping by those opposed to Hungarian royalty were the motivation. George's father did not want his precious son kidnapped and harmed and to allow the Hungarian Noble and Royal Family lines to die out.

That fact did not stop Hungary's future King from developing the connections and experiences necessary for the nation's monarch. He spent much time in Europe being introduced to Royal Houses and to the aristocracy in exile and the aristocracy in state.
